Origin

Born within the fortified, militant walls of Castra, A’vara Rhode carried the heritage of a Moonkeeper mother and a Xaela father of the Ayalal tribe. Her life began in separation from her fraternal twin, A’nahi, who spent much of her own childhood away from her receiving treatment for severe and persistent ailments.A’vara faced an affliction of her own; she was visually impaired. Yet, blindness did not make her fragile. Through sheer determination and the honing of her other senses, she became an exceptional swordsman, able to sense movement more keenly than many of her clanmates. For eighteen summers she dedicated herself to the blade, until her interest turned toward gadget building. In time, she crafted numerous devices for combat, but her proudest achievement was a tool that assisted her own vision; an intricate mechanism that siphoned aether from the air to render ghostly silhouettes of her surroundings in the usual blackness. Once she mastered it, she began creating and distributing similar devices to others in Castra who were visually impaired, considering it her greatest contribution to her people.A decade passed, and at twenty-nine, A’vara’s world shifted again. A senior magitek engineer revealed to her the existence of a sister she barely knew; the twin from whom she had been separated from in childhood. With her parents deceased and her heart set on reuniting with her only living immediate blood relative, A'vara departed Castra for Eorzea, determined to find the other Rhode members who settled there and to bridge the years stolen from them...

Who Is She?

Standing at a striking five fulms and six ilms, she is considered tall for a Miqo’te, her presence quietly commanding. Like her sister, her hair is naturally a deep, dark hue, worn long and often styled with subtle practicality in mind; whether pinned up for function or allowed to fall for comfort. Her full lips soften an otherwise poised expression, while her eyes, nearly devoid of visible pupils, their foggy silver irises shimmering faintly have earned her a quiet legend among Moonkeepers. Many say they mirror moonlight itself, a poetic notion she rarely disputes...Unlike her sister’s cool earthy skin, hers bears a warmer, medium-fair complexion that seems to catch light differently. She keeps her nails only slightly long, preferring the bare precision of her fingertips to navigate and sense her surroundings. Her slim frame, balanced with an ample yet proportionate bust and hips, grants her an evenly sculpted silhouette neither fragile nor imposing, but undeniably graceful.

Personality:

Avara carries herself with a warmth that draws people in, her kindness the first thing most notice about her. She is deeply inquisitive, always eager to learn more about the world around her, and her curiosity is never diminished by her inability to see. In fact, she seems to embrace it as a challenge; an invitation to explore life through touch, sound, scent, and intuition. Whether she is conversing with strangers or close friends, she listens intently, often asking thoughtful questions that make others pause and reflect. In moments of quiet, A'vara often retreats into the world of literature, tracing her fingers over the delicate bumps of a braille tome and letting the words bloom vividly in her mind’s eye. Reading is not just a pastime for her, it’s a journey, a way to experience places and emotions she may never encounter otherwise. This same boundless imagination finds another outlet in her art. She loves to paint, her hands moving with an intuitive grace across canvas, shaping colors and textures she will never see but somehow understands. Her work is striking, often evoking powerful emotions in those who view it.Yet, there is a gentle stubbornness in her nature. If someone misinterprets one of her paintings, calling it something entirely different from what she intended, she can become quietly defensive. To her, the meaning of each piece is deeply personal, an extension of herself, and misclassification feels like a misunderstanding of her voice. Still, she takes pride in the fact that her creations are always remarkable, each one a testament to her skill, creativity, and ability to shape beauty from the unseen. Through every word she reads, every stroke she paints, Avara proves that vision is not limited to the eyes, it’s a way of experiencing life.

About Me

Hey there! I'm Eccentrixxx.♥ I am 29 years old and my preferred pronouns are she/they. I’m a longtime veteran of FFXIV and the RP community, with over seven years in the game. These days, I’m a semi-retired venue gposer who still loves it at leisure, and diving into mid-core content, like weekly high-end 8-man and alliance raids with friends.Outside of the game, I’m a happily married wife with three beloved furbabies and plans to grow our family in the near future. My irl job can be pretty demanding, especially one, or occasionally two, weeks out of the month. So, I use that time to recharge and prioritize my well-being, even when appearing in game. (Hence my antisocial discord statuses :kek:)I do my best to lead with kindness and give people the benefit of the doubt. That said, if someone shows they don’t deserve that energy, I’m quick with the block button. I don't have the time nor the desire to put up with drama.Irl, I am a person of color, and neurodivergent. Under no circumstances will we interact if your idea of humor is remotely micro-aggressive toward that.If you’re here for good vibes and respectful interactions, we’ll get along just fine!
